Goodbye 2010 ~ Hello 2011

I cannot believe it is almost 2011 already!  This year has flown by!!  There weren't really any huge life changing moments in 2010 for us, but it was a great, fun year anyway!

Our sweet, precious, lovable baby boy turned 1!  We have just really enjoyed watching him grow, learn, and play this year.  He is at such a fun age and I'm sure it will only get better!

I am still working, Dus is still working, and R is still going to daycare.  Next year, though, there are supposed to be some changes and more than likely a promotion!!! Yay!  No details yet though.  R loves his daycare.  He has so many "girlfriend's" and I love hearing the stories the teachers tell me about him and the little girls.  I think I'm gonna be in trouble when he gets older! Ha.

I'm looking forward to the year 2011.  My River Bug will turn 2, me and Dusty both have our 10 year high school reunions, job changes, me and Dusty will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, we are going on our first vacation as a family of 3, and who knows what else!  I would love to find a church that I just love and can get involved with.  I haven't been to church in a very long time, probably since Easter, and I feel so bad about it.   I didn't grow up going to church, although I do believe in God and I trust God, and I know everything I have is because of Him and He will take care of me.  I am really blessed with the family he has given me.  I really, really want River to grow up going to church.  I want him to grow into a man who loves his church and his God.  So, my one and only New Year's Resolution I am making this year is to find a church that me and my family love and go every Sunday, and hopefully find a small group that me and Dusty can join.  Bring on the new year!

Happy New Year's!!

P.S.  I am trying to upload the pics from my camera to my computer, but the disk is not working for some reason.  That is why there are no pics from Christmas on here.  I am working on it though, so hopefully it'll happen soon!!

Again, fun night with the sis-in-laws!!

Only one picture came out half way decent from the fire station Christmas party : (

He looks like he is trying to get away from Santa here, but he really did like him!

We are fixing to start getting ready to go to Wendy's.  I can't wait!!  My boys are napping right now so they'll be happy and cheery tonite!  Ha.  Tomorrow is Christmas and I cannot wait for Santa to come tonite.  I am so excited!  Me and River tried making cookies this morning, but it totally did not work out the way I had planned.  I cannot make sugar cookies for some reason...ugh!  Oh well, maybe next year.  I'm also trying to teach River to say Happy Birthday Jesus.  Uhhh, not working out so good.  He is saying something tho, so at least he is trying! :o)

I feel so blessed to have my little family.  I love them so very much and thank God every day for them!
I can't wait to spend the next three days with great family!  Dusty has to work tomorrow, we will miss him, so we are going to celebrate Christmas on Sunday with his dad.

I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and remember the reason for the season. Happy Birthday Jesus!!!

The week of Christmas...

We started our Christmas celebrating on Sunday (12/19) with Dusty's sisters and their families.  We drove to Kasey's and exchanged gifts with the boys.  It was fun and they are so cute!  Kasey made chicken alfredo and Brandy made greenbean casserole and a peach cobbler.  I was in charge of the bread and drinks, and I made some Reese's peanut butter cookies.  It was all very yummy!  Aunt Brandy got River the Cozy Coupe car and he loved it!  Kasey got Carter's out before we opened gifts to see if River would like it.  He didn't get out of it almost the whole night!  I will post pics later tonight, hopefully!

Tuesday was the fire stations Christmas party.  River acted like he owned the place.  I have never seen him interact with kids his own age before and he was hilarious.  He never plays with his cousins like that.  Him and Lainee were running around the bay just being silly.  There was another little girl there who was 3 and River just stared at her.  He wanted her to play so bad, but she wouldn't get out of her moma's lap.  He was in awe over her.  Hilarious!  He is too young to be flirting with those girls!! :o)  Santa was there and when he came walking through the door, River just ran up to him like it was no big deal.  I was so proud!  I'm worried he's gonna by quiet and shy like me.  I DO NOT want him to be!!  But after that night, I'm thinking maybe he won't be!! Ha.  I've got pics to post on this, too!

So, now we are waiting for Christmas Eve and we'll go to Wendy's house that evening.  There is going to be a huge group of us, so it should be fun and interesting!!!  I can't wait.

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!

Laid back weekend

So, this weekend was pretty laid back.  Didn't do too much.  Friday after work, me and River picked up moma and Jaicee and went to eat at Notinis.  It was pretty good!  Then we went to Old Navy and Target.  I got almost all of my Christmas shopping done.  I think I've just got 3 more gifts to buy.  Yes!!

Saturday it was a dreary day.  It was Benton on the Square and the parade started at 1:00.  It was ok, I guess.  River enjoyed being outside and watching the fire trucks and horses.

He loves horses!

After the parade, we came back home and River took a nap.  Dusty left from the parade to go hunting.  He killed a doe.  He is 5/5 with his new shot gun!  Whoo hoo Dusty!! :o)  Haha.  Today, we found out that Rhonda's Mimi passed.  Me and River went to see Rhonda this morning and cheer her up.  After that, we met Wendy at McCalisters for some soup.  It was pretty delish!  Then, we went to JCPenney.  I picked out a couple of cute tops for Christmas.  River got a little bit fussy in there and would not stop crying!  He just cried just to cry.  Even after I took him out of the stroller and was holding him, he just kept crying. Oh my!  We got home this afternoon and have just been hanging out.  I made another wreath...a Saints one.  It turned out pretty cute!

Well, this thing won't let me upload any pics right now.  I'll post my wreath later.

Here are some pics my mom took of us for our Christmas cards.  I didn't use any of these tho...

Love my two boys!

I gotta go get ready for Monday tomorrow :p  Blah!!

My Christmas decor

I bought new everything this year.  I love the bright green and red and gold Christmas decorations they have out now, so that's what I went with.  I also had a hard time deciding what kind of tree I wanted to do...either a green/red/gold one or one with all of my fun ornaments.  I went with the green/red/gold with just a couple of fun ones.  I still have to get River's ornament for this year.  Here is my tree and a few of my favorite ornaments....

Mine and Dusty's first ornament

Love this one...Tis a gift to be a mom.  My grandma got it for me last year.

She also got these for River's 1st Christmas ornament.  So sweet.  I love em!

My ruby slippers :o)

Won this a Bunco last week  Pretty cute!!

This is River's last year school Christmas picture.  I'm waiting on this year's to get in.  Got the present and tree at Kirklands.  I love that store!

My new stockings I got the day after Thanksgiving.  Love em!

Reindeer stocking holder.  I've had these for a few years.

Love the reindeer plate.

My new garland

Rhonda made me this a few years ago.  She's so crafty!

My grandma made these a while back.  So cute.

So if you couldn't tell, I collect reindeer.  I've got more stuff in the kitchen, but I'll save that for another day.  I did manage to wrap all the presents that I already have tonight.  I use to love wrapping, but now I'm like UGH!  I'd rather just put everything in a gift bag and be done with it!  River was all in my wrapping paper.  He messed up a whole role that I had to throw away, lil stinker!  He didn't really care much for the presents once they were wrapped.  Next year will probably be the year he finally starts to get it.  Here are a few pics of my little elf from tonight...

He would not sit still and let me take his picture

Wearing moma's shoes... haha.  He loves shoes!

Sweet sweet boy!

Usually when me or Dusty tell River 'I love you', he will not say or we have to say it word by word and let him repeat us after each word.  Well, tonight he was going to bed and I said 'I love you', not expecting anything from him, and he said 'love you'!!!!  Awww, melt my heart.  I swear I get teary eyed just thinking about it.

Random thoughts....

My mind is wondering today...
1.  I really, really, really do not like Christmas shopping!  I love giving gifts, but I do not like to shop for  them and trying to figure out what to get everybody!

2.  I am so glad my family decided to draw names for Christmas this year!

3.  I cannot stop thinking and smiling about my River bug!  He is so sweet and funny and cute.  I could just eat him up!  When I woke him up this morning and would reach down to get him out of his bed, he would lay back down real fast so I could't get him and laugh.

4.  I wrapped ONE present last night.  That's it!

5.  I really need to learn how to save money better!

6.  I think I've Santa gifts figured out.

7.  I need to take River back to Bass Pro to see if we can get a better pic of him and Santa.

8.  I hope what I got Dusty for Christmas is the right thing and I hope he is still excited about it and really wants it still when he opens it...ugh.  You never know with him :o)  Love you booger!

9.  I'm ready for a looong vacation!

10.  I saw the advertisement for the new American Idol.  I'm kinda excited about it, which is weired because I usually get bored with it.  But, I want to see what the judges are going to be like!

11.  I didn't really watch all of the American Country Awards that were on last night, but the TV was on that channel...was it kind of weird or what?!?!  Maybe it's just me, but I just thought it was a weird show.

12.  What am I going to get River's teachers at daycare for Christmas.

13.  Oh yeah, how could I forget...daycare is going UP starting January 1.  Happy New Year to us!! : (

14.  I'm ready for lunch and I don't want my Smartones I brought.
