River Roo

I forgot to put these in the last post and I just think they are too cute and too funny not to post.  River is sitting in his new chair eating grapes.  He kept saying he was going to give me a bite and when I bent down to get it, he snatched it away and put it in his mouth.  He was cracking up (you can tell in the top right).  Haha!!  It was sooo funny!

Bone Collector

I am not a fan of hunting shows, my husband is!  They get on my nerves and they are so boring.  I can't stand to listen to people whispering all the time.  But, there is one guy I do like and most of the time I don't mind watching his shows... Michael Waddell A.K.A The Bone Collector.  He is such a cutie!

Anyway, a while back we were in Academy and I saw a little Michael Waddell folding chair for River.  I knew I wanted to get him it to take to the BR.  Well, Dusty went to Academy the other day on his day off to get stuff for the trip, and he bought these....

Dusty got him a bigger version of the one like River's.  It's so cute, I love it!! :o) 



Our Weekend

Friday night, me and my friend Haley hosted a Girl's Nite In at my house.  We had a Pure Romance party and we had a few girls over, we had pizza and some drinks, and shopped.  It was so much fun and had lots of laughs!  River Roo stayed at my mom's that night and guess what???  He slept the whole entire night without waking up.  Little toot!

Saturday, while River was still at moma's, I had to go to town to get a new swim suit for our trip (and because I have really grown out of my others...big booty girl over here!!)  I did find one that will do, but I swear, when I get back from this trip and life slows down a bit, I am hitting the gym hardcore!!  I picked up River and we went home to get daddy and hang out for an hour or so before we had to go to Papaw and Honey's house for Honey's bday.  I tried to do a little photo shoot with River and his daddy's new captain helmet, but it didn't work out too well.

 We got to my in-law's and we ate grilled burgers and hot dogs (my fav!) and cake and ice cream.  We had a good time visiting.

 We left the bday party early because we had to go to Aubri's parent's house for a little celebration for the three guys that made Captain (Dusty, Bruce, and Jonathan).  They had so much yummy food there, so of course I ate again.  Ha!  After we ate, we played Botchi (sp?).  It's a fun game where you have to try to throw your ball closest to the Jack ball, and whoever gets the closest gets a point.  We stayed till about 10:30 and River was such a trooper.  He played and was so good the entire night!  And no, he did not sleep in his bed all night, but close...he woke up at 4:00 and got in the bed with us.  *sigh

Sunday was low key.  Dus had to work and me and River just stayed home most of the day until we went to Nonna's to swim.  We had a great weekend with friends and family!

I Heart Summer!

River got in the pool for the first time this year at Nonna's house on 5/29.  It was really cold at first and he was a little freaked, but he warmed up real quick!  He loved playing in the pool! He did so good.  I really want to get him in swimming lessons this year, but Dus says to wait till next year.  We'll see....wink wink.

We fried fish that nite at Nonna's house and just hung out by the pool all evening.  I love nites like those!  We went to Nonna's again yesterday to swim and River did SO good!  I was so proud.  He started kicking his feet and moving his arms all on his own, like he really knew what he was doing.  Then, he would put his face in the water and blow bubbles.  It was great!  I even dunked him a few times and he was ok with it.  Ha!  In the bath tub, he hates getting his face wet.  

Ok, I think I'm caught up to this past weekend now.  I'll try to post pics tomorrow!  I've got a busy week this week with bdays, getting ready to go out of town, seeing my daddy because we're gonna be gone for Father's Day, and I have to start shopping for Haley and Corey's couple shower next month (in less than a month and I haven't done anything!!).  Whew!

Playing catch up

I can't believe it has taken over 2 years for River to go on his first boat ride.  Ha!  Finally, on June 2, we loaded up the boat one evening and went to Cypress Lake.  It was nice being out there.  It was a week day, so there weren't too many people out there.  I wish we would've had our swim suits on so we could have taken a dip!  Definitely next time!  River loved it.  At first he was just sitting there, still as can be.  Then when Dusty started going fast, River couldn't keep his eyes open because of the wind.  It was funny.  I'll be sure to bring his sunglasses next time.

River kept walking up Dusty's chest and would sit on his head backwards.  It was so funny.  That boy is a hoot!

I got R this turtle shirt from the Children's Place.  I just love it!  June 3, was his first time to wear it and I wanted to get some pics of him in it because I figured it would get stained (since it's white) the first time wearing it and I would have to throw it away or it would become a pj shirt.  (BTW, he didn't get it stained so he gets to wear it again!!).  I got my camera and he started saying "CHEESE".  Well, when I went to take the pic, he made this face...

 Lol!  I showed it to him and he said 'NO'!  So, I took another and got this face...

Hahaha!  When I showed it to him, he started crying and said no again.  Seriously, he is a mess!!  So, he climbed in my lap and we got this one....



And he was happy!!  He's saying 'cheese' in this pic.  I love him so much!!

Random Thoughts

1.  This has been a crazy week!  Sunday night our A/C quit working so we had to load up at 10:45 at night and go to Dusty's dad's.  River slept in the bed with me and poor Dus had to sleep on the floor in his 'poot bag'.  Needless to say, neither one of us got much sleep!  THEN, daycare called me Monday and said River had fever and bad diapers.  So I left work to go get him and our air was still not working right so me and River stayed at R&R's again.  We were up half the night because River was running fever and was so miserable.  I felt so sorry for him and helpless.  My poor baby.  I stayed home from work Tuesday and River was fine the whole day.  He's teething.  I felt around in his mouth and he's got a tooth coming in up top in the back.

2.  The A/C got fixed Monday night, but it was too late for us to go home and still too hot in the house.  Monday afternoon, Dusty called me and said it wasn't working...again.  Ugh, are you kidding me!!  My wonderful FIL came over and him and Dus cleaned out the A/C unit thing and now it works like a charm!  I'm sooo glad we didn't have to buy a new unit....yet!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed it stays working ;o)

3.  I am so ready for the Buffalo River.  I can't wait.  I think I'm more excited to see what River does!  He's gonna love it.

4.  I have a mile long list of stuff to take to the Buffalo...geez!

5.  I'm tired!  I wish River would sleep in his bed the whole night.  He usually wakes up anywhere between 11 pm to 4 a.m. crying/screaming/yelling "MOMA"!  I go get him and put him in the bed with me and he goes back to sleep...usually.  Here lately, he's been wanting to talk and wiggle around.  It's no big deal with Dusty is at work, but when he's home and all three of us our in my bed...ugh!  Last night, he woke up at 1:30 and I just let him cry for about 10 minutes hoping he would lay back down and go to sleep...um, no!  So,  I finally gave in and went to get him.  He's not hurt or sick or needing anything, he just ALWAYS wakes up crying, never wakes up happy.

6.  Last night, River was sitting on the floor on the opposite side of the living room than me.  I put my hand behind my back and walked to him really fast on my hands and feet and that boy cracked up.  He was so funny!  He kept wanting me to do it and he would die laughing.  I had to catch him sometimes because he was about to fall over backwards he was laughing so hard.  It was awesome!

7.  I love my hubs!!!! XOXO  He'll become Captain this week!  Well, he won't officially be at his own station, but he will be getting the raise.  Yay!!  So proud :o)

8.  I can't wait for Big Brother to come on.  July 14th, I think is when it starts!

9.  I have to start shopping for Haley & Corey's couples shower!  It's getting close...yikes!

10.  I'm off tomorrow.  Gotta run some errands and get ready for my Girl's Nite In party tomorrow night.  I can't wait!!

Graduations and Birthday Party

 **There has been so much tragedy in our country, neighboring states, and even right here in our home town lately.  The tornados and floods have been horrible this year with hundreds of lives and homes lost.  It's really devastating.  Please keep them in your prayers!  Also, over the Memorial weekend, there was a horrible wreck in our town.  Four people died, including a child.  It is so sad.  There was also a little boy about River's age who was involved, and he is in stable condition right now.  He lost both of his parents, his sister, and grandma in this wreck.  It just breaks my heart.  Please keep this family your prayers, also.  I couldn't imagine going through anything any of these people are going through. 

Two weeks ago we had such a busy weekend.  On May 21, my baby brother graduated from high school.  I can't believe it.  It makes me feel old.  While we were sitting there waiting for him to walk out, I remembered that it was 10 years ago to the day that I graduated!!  Wow!

Me, Dus, and River had to leave Chedder's early so we could go to Levi's birthday party.  It was at a little zoo in town.  It was a cute little place.  The only bad thing is that it POURED down rain before we got there and was a little too wet/muddy for me since I was in a dress and sandals.  Ugh!  Poor Dusty had to chase River around because I was not about to be lifting and running after him in what I had on.  Dusty was a complete mess by the time we left.  Ha!  We had a good time, tho!

After the bday party, we had to go home so Dusty could get a shower and change clothes, then we had to go to Wendy's for her nephew, Will's, graduation party.  They had Superior catered and it was so good! 

It was such a busy day, but it was fun!  We all got home that night and crashed!
