Family outing to the Zoo!!

Yesterday, me, Dus, and River took a little road trip to the Caldwell Zoo in Tyler, Tx. It was so fun!  It was a little chilly when we first got there, but it ended up warming up some.  Dusty said I was more excited than River was...maybe so ;o).  River had a great time.  He wasn't as excited as we thought he would be, being as how he loves animals, but he liked it and had fun!  I want to take him back later in the Spring time.  The elephants were his favorite.  He squealed and hollered at them.  He kind of was just taking everything in, kind of in awe about it.  I packed us a lunch (and packed it all in my 31 thermal tote, which worked amazingly!!!) and we had a little picnic.  Fun times with my family.  I loved every bit of it!!

On the way.  He was sooo tired, but he just couldn't fall asleep. He had both of his dogs, his blanket, and his snack cup.  No wonder he couldn't get comfortable.  Ha!

This guy here was putting on a show!  He was playing in the mud, picking up his tire, running around.  We watched him for about 10-15 minutes.  It is so cool how something that big can move the way he was!

River fed the ducks and fish.  The top right corner is a banded duck that Dusty told me to take.  If you look closely, you can see the band on his leg!

I love this!  This tiger came right up to the glass and stared at us.  He was sooo pretty!  We didn't see any orange and black tigers :(, just the white ones.

Daddy bought him a shirt and a giraffe, which took place of the dogs.  Ha!

I can't wait to go back.  If we don't go back this year, then definitely next year I think he will be more in to it!  It was a great day!

Busy Busy

I've kinda been MIA here lately!  I've been busy with life, ya know, the kiddo, the hubs, the house, work, etc etc. Ha! 

I have no pics for this post...will post some hopefully this weekend!!

Last Friday, I met a couple of girlfriends at Nicky's.  It was a lot of fun and it was nice to get to do that while Dusty kept River.  We def need to do it more often!!  Saturday, we did nothing much at all.  Me and R met Wendy, her sister and niece for lunch at Good Eats.  I love their chicken salad croissants.   They are so good!  I came home and I placed my first 31 party order, yay!!  It was over $800!  That evening, me, Dus, and R went to the grocery store.  Whoop whoop!  How exciting is that. Ha!  We came home and Dusty made spaghetti.  River LOVES spaghetti, I think that is his fave!  Sunday, I had another 31 party/Bunco.  Beth (my cousin's wife's sister...got that!?!) was the host.  I had fun and I won the most Buncos.  I got a very pretty canvas painting of a fluer-di-lis, and it's blue and brown, will go perfect in my bedroom...if I ever get around to getting a new comforter.  Ha!  After that, I went home and got Dus and R and we went to Dusty's dad's for Brandy's bday dinner.  Her birthday was Wednesday (16th).  Randy cooked backstrap, mashed potatoes, collard greens, and...black eyed peas maybe.  I can't remember.  It was sooo good!  All of his cooking is soooo good!!!  I do have pics of this, but I'll have to post them later.  That about sums up last weekend.

This week has flown by!  I was off yesterday to take a day for myself while hubs and baby were gone.  I stayed home most of the day and cleaned and threw away stuff!  I finally broke down and threw away all cards I have been keeping for years.  Does anybody else keep holiday/bday cards for ever and ever?  I was totally running out of space for them.  I kept the ones with notes in them and the ones for/from me, Dus, and R.  I was sad to do it, but it had to be done.  I also got rid of boxes and boxes and more boxes of 'stuff' that I was saving for a garage sale.  Well, I couldn't keep that stuff in my house another minute, so no garage sale for me anymore.  My car was LOADED with stuff that I took to Goodwill.  The hunting room looks amazing now!  The bed is now usable (it had piles of stuff on it...anybody wanna come sleep over now ;o)) and you can see the floor.  I was so proud of myself!  I also did some rearranging in the living room and River's room.  I'll post pics of this, too, later.  I got a lot accomplished yesterday!

1. Where do you usually have your thermostat set at in the winter?
    Between 67-70.  Definately 67 at night!

2. What room do you tend to put off cleaning until last?
    All of them.  Ha!  No, really tho, probably the hunting room.  It's kind of a catch all place.  But, I am off work tomorrow and I will be doing some much needed cleaning/organizing/throwing away in EVERY room!!!

3. Do you like to clean with music on or off?
    Definately on!  With the windows up and the sunshine coming in!

4. When do you take time to blog?
    Usually at night after the kiddo goes to bed.

5. How much time do you spend looking at other blogs a week?
    A.LOT!!!  I am definately a blog stalker.  I love reading about other people and seeing they're day to day life and all the different crafts, etc.!

My Valentine

Since Dusty was working, it was just me and River Bug.  We went to Chick-fil-A and then Baskin Robbins for some ice cream.  It was a fun Mommy/Son date!!  I got River an Elmo book, a new Elmo movie (so he'll quit watching the same one over and over again, hopefully), and a hammer and nails toy.  After we ate, we stopped by his Nonna's house so she could give him his Valentine.  He got another Elmo book.  Thanks Nonna! 

River got to play outside today when we got home from school.  We were out there for almost an hour.  Daddy got his 4-wheeler out and they rode around the yard.  Every time Dusty gased it to go fast, River would clap and say yay!  Tonight, we went to Honey and Papaw's house.   Papaw fried some fish and it was so good!  River got a stuffed puppy dog and another Elmo book.  Ha!  The kid loves some Elmo!!  Thanks Papaw and Honey!  I'm probably going to be sick of Elmo by the time his birthday get here!  Dusty left about 8:00 tonight to go fishing.  It.is.nev.er.end.ing!!  I did make him give R a bath before he left tho. 

River moved to the Toddler class yesterday.  He is back with Hannah (they were in the same baby room together).  His teacher told me Hanna and another little girl faught over River all day and that River was holding Hanna's hand all day.  Oh man, what am I going to do with him!?!  I asked how his first day went and Ms. Latasha told me he was better than the kids that were already in that class.  That's my boy!

Grandma's Birthday dinner and 31 party

I had my very first ThirtyOne party today! It was my launch party to let people know I am a consultant. I had about 9 people show up. It ended up being a pretty good party. I am still waiting on a few more orders to come in. I'll post more details on my ThrityOne blog.

Random Thoughts

No pics this post.  These are just some thoughts I've got running through my head....


1. Yesterday was my grandma’s birthday. Me, River, moma, daddy, Austin, and grandma met up at Chilis last night to celebrate. It was fun hanging out with the fam!


2. Tomorrow is my ThirtyOne party! I’m nervous/scared/excited. I’m glad my very first party is my own and maybe I will be able to talk in front of everybody better since I know em all : /

3. My childhood friend is coming in town tomorrow, too. It’s been over a year since I’ve seen her.

4. Bunco is tomorrow nite, too. Busy day!

5. I’m so excited to go on my date with Dusty on Sunday. We’re going to see Just Go With It with Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler and then eat at BWW. I love that place!! Dus has to work Valentine’s Day, so we’re celebrating Sunday <3

6. And, since Dus is working on Vday, me and River Bug will have a date on Monday!! I can’t wait. I’m thinking some Chick-fil-A <3

7. I really wish when people are sick, they would stay home and not come to work! I’m so tired of hearing hacking coughs in my ear all day. Ugh!!!!!!!!!

8. I love how River has started cuddling with his stuffed animals when he sleeps. It is so sweet and cute!

9. River got in the bed with me this morning about 5:30 and at about 6:15 he rolled over and layed his head in my neck. I was late getting out of bed because I was loving the cuddle time! I heart him!

10.  I'm liking American Idol so far this year.  I really, really loving me some Steven Tyler and J-Lo is doing a great job, too.  She is so pretty!

11.  I'm coming out of my decorating mood, which sucks because I didn't get much accomplished while I was in it.  Ha!  It comes and goes, and when it's gone, it gone....for about a month or so! :(

12.  River is moving to the toddler class on Monday.  I'm kinda sad.  When he first moved to the creeper class I was really nervous because I wasn't too sure about the teacher, but I ended up loving her and she has taught River so much!  I'm sad now he's moving to another class. 

13. TGIF!!!!!

Snow Snow go away!

I'm ready for the snow to be gone!  I'm ready for the roads to be back to normal.  I'm ready for the ground to dry.  I'm ready for the SPRING!!!  The snow is nice and pretty and all, but one day is enough.  I wish this sunshine we have today would melt that stuff instantly and warm us up! 

Even though it was cold and snowy yesterday, we did have a pretty good day!  We took R to my mom's about 2:30ish so we could go out with friends.  Thanks moma!  I made Dusty take a picture with me and River (he hates taking pics) while we were at moma's.  Haha Dusty!!  I stole these pics from my mom's FB page...

I don't think we've got much planned for this evening.  We will probably just hang out at the house.  I keep thinking it is Sunday since I didn't work yesterday.  I guess I better go get dressed so I can go get my baby.  It is kinda nice having the morning to myself, tho!  Ha!  But, I miss the lil booger, so I'll go get him.
