Fall is almost here

I have tried so hard all summer not to complain about the heat because I really really dislike the cold and would much rather it be 110 degrees than 40 degrees.  I've done pretty good about not complaining.  Now that the summer is coming to an end and fall is right around the corner, I am starting to get a little excited!  I do love the fall, I'm just not looking forward to the cold.  I have a feeling we're going to have a pretty rough winter.

This weekend in the opening weekend for College Ball!  Yay!!  LSU plays Oregon at the new Dallas Stadium.

I found this online and think it's hilarious!

I'm so excited to get my game gear on and watch the game!

Also since fall is so near, I'm getting excited about the fall smells, soups, pumpkin patches, and my favorite holiday...Halloween!  I have in mind what I'm gonna dress River up as, but I'm not sure about it yet.  It may be my last chance to dress him up as what I want him to be before starts making his own decisions, which I may or may not let him do!

Speaking of my River Bug, I have started trying to introduce the potty to him.  At first, he wanted nothing to do with it.  He didn't want to sit on it or anything.  Now, I can get him to sit on it, but that's about all he does.  I've thrown in some cheerios and told him to tee tee on them, but he just tries to grab them.  When he's sitting on the potty, he'll say 'come on tee tee'.  Haha!  I even pour a little warm water down his back or front when I have him on the potty before bath time because he tee tees every single time I put him in the bath even if he just got off the potty.  He doesn't like it when I do that, ha!  I bought an Elmo Goes Potty DVD the other day now every time he sees a potty no matter where we are, he says he's got to go and wants to sit on it.  He really doesn't have to go and most of the time I tell him no, but should I really just sit him on it anyway?  And, when am I supposed to start buying pull-ups?  Now, when we're in the process of learning how to go or when he actually starts to go?  Pull-ups are expensive and I hate to waste em!

He is growing like a weed!  His talking is starting to get a little better, too.  His favorite things right now is "moma's bed" (he loves to go get on my bed!  Sometimes, I'll be in the living room or kitchen and I go to check on River and he's sitting on my bed with a book or watching TV), 4-wheelers and lawn mowers and fire trucks (every fire truck is daddy's fire truck), elephants, Mickey Mouse, and hot dogs!  Oh, he also has been singing so much here lately.  He will find whatever he can and pretend its a microphone and just sing (nothing in particular, just making a lot of noises and yelling) at the top of his lungs.  It's pretty funny!  My baby boy is turning into such a big boy.  *tear!

Date Night

Last night, me and my  mom had a date night.  We ate at Chick-fil-a, then went to see The Help.  Such a great movie!  I bawled, of course, and my eyes were all puffy this morning.  I am definitely going to buy this movie when it comes out.  Some of the ladies in the movie were just so mean and I cannot comprehend that.  It was awful the way they treated the maids.  I believe I would definitely be like Skeeter if I had lived in that time era.  And little Mae Mobley, she was precious and loved her Aibi.

You is kind.  You is smart.  You is important.

Great date with my moma ;o)

Wedding Weekend, part 2

The Big Day, all of us girls met at Good Eats for lunch then went to the hair salon.  We brought our drinks in there with us ;o)  We all met up at the church to get ready and take pics.  I was starving to death by the time of the ceremony!  I finally ate after 7:00 at the reception.  The reception was a lot of fun!  They had an awesome band playing, The Groove Agents, and the food was good, the company was good.  River was there with all of his grandparents and he was running around like crazy!  There were a couple of little girls who were dancing on the dance floor and River would just stand there and watch them.  Finally, they pulled him out there and they all held hands in a circle and danced.  The reception was over at 11, then a few of us went on the boat to do a little gambling.  Haley, Dusty, and Kristen all walked out ahead!  Yay!  We did not get home till 3 in tha mornin'!!  Ugh, I was exhausted.  But, it was a great day with great friends who I wish a lifetime of happiness!!

Wedding Weekend, part 1

This past Saturday, my BFF, Haley, and Corey got married.  Haley looked so pretty and everything went very well!  They married at the same church Dusty and I got married, so that was kinda sweet for me and Dus to stand up at the alter together again.  He was Bestman, I was Matron of Honor.  The night before the wedding, we had rehearsal then rehearsal dinner was at Ralph and Kacoos (same place as mine and Dusty's.  Ha!).  The food was pretty good and we had a good time visiting with everybody.  After dinner, the guys wanted to go to a pool hall.  The girls decided they were going, too, but as soon as we got in there, it was so smokey and looked pretty boring, so me and Haley left to go home and get some rest!  Dusty didn't get home till 2:00 a.m.!!

These are pics from rehearsal dinner...

Urban Cowboy Party, part 1

A couple of weekends ago (Aug 7), my mom turned 50!  We had an 'Urban Cowboy' themed party at her house in the barn my daddy is building (Aug 6).  I have to admit, it was pretty cool in there and we want to keep it a party barn, instead of putting the animals in it!!  (All of us excpet my dad, of course!)

Lucky Weekend

August 12th and 13th seem  to be some pretty lucky days for a few people I know (including me)!  Three years ago tomorrow (the 13th), I found out I was pregnant.  I was in total shock and was not expecting to hear that.  I went to the doctor because in July I had twisted my ankle and it was giving me problems so I wanted to get it checked out.  The nurse asked could I be pregnant because I had to get an x-ray done.  I told her it was possible, so she had me do a test.  I waited....waited....waited, then finally she came in the room and said 'I think you may be pregnant'.  WHAT?!?!  She showed me the stick and she said that the second line was so light and you could barely see it because I was super early pregnant (like 2 weeks, she said).  Well, my moma works at the same doctor's office and I didn't want her finding out until I told Dusty first, so I had to go to the x-ray dpmt and pretend get an x-ray just so my mom wouldn't think anything.  The doctor came in and checked out my ankle and I really don't know what he said about it...the pain was the last thing on my mind at that time!  Dr. Shah told me he was going to send my blood work to get checked STAT and he would call me that night to let me know if I was really pregnant or not.  So, I went to target and bought a little onsie set, one said 'I love my mommy' and the other 'I love my daddy'.

Dr. Shah called me at 7:00 that night and said I was pregnant.  Yay!  Then, he told me some more stuff about my ankle, but who knows what.  Ha!  Dusty was at work, so I put the 'I love daddy' onsie in a gift bag and called Dus and told him somebody rang the doorbell and when I opened the door a package was there, and that I wanted him to open it first.  So up to the firestation I went.  I gave him the bag, he opened it, and couldn't believe it.  We hugged, I cried, it was sweet!

Now, on my way home from the doctor's appointment, my BFF called to tell me she was engaged!! Yay!!!  I was so happy for her and I didn't want to rain on her parade, so of course I didn't say anything about me!  Well, after I told Dusty and knowing he can't keep a secret, I called Haley to tell her and good thing I did because Dusty was on the phone with Corey about to tell him!  Ha!  The next day after work we told our parents.

Now for the third lucky lady, a co-worker of mine, Anne, who is actually my cousin's wife's moma...got that...just found out this morning that her other daughter, Beth, is preggers!!  Yay.  Beth has really been wanting this for a while and I'm super duper happy for her!!

Oh yeah, Corey and Haley are getting married tomorrow, too.  August 13th, 2011.  Three years after they got engaged!  And I am Matron of Honor and Dusty is Bestman.  So much happiness going on around here!!
