My Christmas decor

I bought new everything this year.  I love the bright green and red and gold Christmas decorations they have out now, so that's what I went with.  I also had a hard time deciding what kind of tree I wanted to do...either a green/red/gold one or one with all of my fun ornaments.  I went with the green/red/gold with just a couple of fun ones.  I still have to get River's ornament for this year.  Here is my tree and a few of my favorite ornaments....

So if you couldn't tell, I collect reindeer.  I've got more stuff in the kitchen, but I'll save that for another day.  I did manage to wrap all the presents that I already have tonight.  I use to love wrapping, but now I'm like UGH!  I'd rather just put everything in a gift bag and be done with it!  River was all in my wrapping paper.  He messed up a whole role that I had to throw away, lil stinker!  He didn't really care much for the presents once they were wrapped.  Next year will probably be the year he finally starts to get it.  Here are a few pics of my little elf from tonight...

Usually when me or Dusty tell River 'I love you', he will not say or we have to say it word by word and let him repeat us after each word.  Well, tonight he was going to bed and I said 'I love you', not expecting anything from him, and he said 'love you'!!!!  Awww, melt my heart.  I swear I get teary eyed just thinking about it.  

Random thoughts....

My mind is wondering today...

1.  I really, really, really do not like Christmas shopping!  I love giving gifts, but I do not like to shop for  them and trying to figure out what to get everybody!

2.  I am so glad my family decided to draw names for Christmas this year!

3.  I cannot stop thinking and smiling about my River bug!  He is so sweet and funny and cute.  I could just eat him up!  When I woke him up this morning and would reach down to get him out of his bed, he would lay back down real fast so I could't get him and laugh.

4.  I wrapped ONE present last night.  That's it!

5.  I really need to learn how to save money better!

6.  I think I've Santa gifts figured out.

7.  I need to take River back to Bass Pro to see if we can get a better pic of him and Santa.

8.  I hope what I got Dusty for Christmas is the right thing and I hope he is still excited about it and really wants it still when he opens it...ugh.  You never know with him :o)  Love you booger!

9.  I'm ready for a looong vacation!

10.  I saw the advertisement for the new American Idol.  I'm kinda excited about it, which is weired because I usually get bored with it.  But, I want to see what the judges are going to be like!

11.  I didn't really watch all of the American Country Awards that were on last night, but the TV was on that channel...was it kind of weird or what?!?!  Maybe it's just me, but I just thought it was a weird show.

12.  What am I going to get River's teachers at daycare for Christmas.

13.  Oh yeah, how could I forget...daycare is going UP starting January 1.  Happy New Year to us!! : (

14.  I'm ready for lunch and I don't want my Smartones I brought.

Let your shutters fly with Shutterfly!!

Shutterfly is promoting free Christmas cards in the blog land!! That’s right, 50 free Christmas cards for blogging about Shutterfly. I have never used Shutterfly, but I did become a member about a month ago. I just have not had the time to sit down and order prints or anything. I have been looking through their Christmas card selection and they have gorgeous choices. Here are a few of my favorites….I don’t know which one I will use, I love them all!

They have a great selection for party invitations, too. I love having parties and going all out with all the cutesy stuff. I may or may not have my baby boy’s 2nd birthday invitations picked out already for his April birthday! ; ) You can find examples here. Also, I am sooo far behind on scrapbooking River’s birth day to now (I have not even started), so I decided to just make a photobook of each year of his life. Here are some examples. It is much easier and less time consuming than actual paper scrapbooking. I cannot wait to get started, and I will probably when the holidays are over : ).

I am going to have my mom take our pictures for the cards this weekend (hopefully) so I can get my cards ordered, so come back towards the middle of December and I will post a pic of our family Christmas card. I cannot wait to see what they will look like!

Thanksgiving

We had somewhat of a quiet Thanksgiving this year.  Dusty had to work so me and River only made one stop...my mom's.  It was nice not having to try to bunch everybody into one day!!  I LOVE Thanksgiving food!  The cornbread dressing, greenbean casserole, roasted potatos...love.it!

Looking through the sales papers.  Me and River stayed the night at Grandma's that night because she was gonna keep River for me on Friday since I had to work and I wanted to go to Belk Friday morning and didn't wanna get River out at that time of night.  Belk had a great sale on their boots.  Reg $60 boots for $19.99!  Can't beat that.  I bought me a brown pair and my grandma at gray pair.  They are super cute!

Obsessed a little????

I am totally obsessed with the Royals!  Maybe it's because my grandma is from England and I've been to London to see the Buckingham Palace, watched the changing of the guards, and walked the same street Prince William drove down secretly hoping I would meet him and he would fall in love with me.  Ha!  I am always on wikipedia reading all about the Queen, the Princes, and Princess Diana.  I am so glad they are getting married.  I hope they televise the wedding, cuz I will sure watch!
